CT Image Processing and Hip-Femur Segmentation Workflow
- Learn how to segment and separate hard tissue anatomy from clinical CT data, then surface mesh it for export as an STL file.
- Skills covered - Import DICOM files. Resample and crop images. Use threshold presets, split tool, morphological close tool, and smart paint tool. Create surface mesh via model preview. Export STL files.
Hip Anatomy Measurement and Shape Analysis
- Introduction to measurement tools in Simpleware Medical, including shape fitting (to regions of interest, surface selections, and landmarks) and basic measurements such as distances and angles. Measurements are taken from a hip and femur segmentation to analyze clinical data.
- Skills covered - Fit shapes to ROIs, surface selections, and points. Measure shape-to-shape distances. Measure distances, points, and angles.
Importing and Positioning CAD Implants in Medical 3D Model
- Learn how to import and position CAD objects within an image-based 3D model for applications such as implant planning, surgical guides, and pre-surgical planning.
- Skills covered - Import an STL file. Automatically position the STL. Manually refine the STL position.
