Introduction to Fluids simulation using Ansys Fluent

Gain skills for fluid dynamics simulations, including heat transfer and quality assurance. Practical exercises ensure you can independently carry out CFD simulations from start to finish.

What you'll learn

  • ✔ Understand the fundamental concepts and principles of fluid dynamics and their applications across various engineering fields.
  • ✔ Define and comprehend the key properties of a fluid such as density, viscosity, surface tension, and pressure.
  • ✔ Classify and categorize fluid flows based on their properties and behaviors.
  • ✔ Understand how gravitational field creates a pressure gradient in a static fluid and the concept of buoyancy.
  • ✔ Apply the principles of fluid motion to describe fluid flow in various engineering applications.
  • ✔ Comprehend the Navier-Stokes equations and their application in describing phenomena involving fluids.
  • ✔ Understand the implications of various non-dimensional parameters in analyzing real-world objects using scaled models.
  • ✔ Simplify the Navier-Stokes equations by making assumptions about the conditions of fluid flows and apply these simplified equations to solve practical problems.
  • ✔ Understand the principles of external and internal fluid flows, including the role of pressure and shear forces, and how different factors such as body shape, velocity, and Reynolds number influence these forces.

Description

In this Training You will acquire the necessary skills for numerical flow calculations with Ansys Fluent. You will learn to simulate internal and external fluid dynamics with heat transfer and systematically evaluate the results. Quality assurance of the results is also an important part of the training. The focus is on practical exercises using the Ansys Fluent software. These exercises are accompanied by a presentation of the necessary physical and numerical background knowledge. You will learn a best practice procedure for carrying out fluid dynamics calculations and apply this in the exercises. From model selection and geometry generation to calculation, evaluation, and quality assurance of results – after the training, you will be able to independently carry out CFD simulations.
